Education

The Lord guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. (Psalm 25:8, NIV, adapted)

We at First Presbyterian believe in fostering spiritual growth for all ages. Adults and children are encouraged to attend classes located throughout the Christian Education Building following our after-worship coffee time.

  • Grade School Sunday School includes sharing the foundations of the Christian faith, teaching young people more about the Bible and encouraging them in Scripture memorization.
  • Junior and Senior High Sunday School addresses the concerns of young people, showing them how to look for the answers to their problems in the Bible.
  • Our Adult Education program offers a variety of elective courses that change periodically. These classes are offered on Sunday morning after the worship service.
  • Small Group Bible Study - First Presbyterian has a variety of small groups that meet at the church or in members' homes for sharing, prayer and Bible study. For more on small groups, see our events page.
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) - Each summer, First Presbyterian hosts VBS that includes Bible study, crafts, games, singing and Bible memorization. People all ages are encouraged to participate.
  • Family Nights - A light meal is served as we join to enjoy fellowship and discuss topics important to Christian growth or screen a film that raises spiritual issues.
  • Advent Workshop - We gather to make advent wreaths and prepare our hearts for the arrival of Christ's birth.
  • Lenten Bible Studies -We meet to meditate on the significance of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, and how this great gift must affect our daily lives.
