 The
music program at First Presbyterian is coordinated by Dr.
Beth Naegele . She has a PhD in Organ Performance from Northwestern
University and is Professor of Music at Moody
Bible Institute in Chicago.
Junior
Choir is for children in grades 1-5 who enjoy praising
the Lord in song. Rehearsals: Sunday mornings, after the
children’s
sermon.
Praise
Ringers is for young people in grades 5 and older
who have beginning to intermediate musical skills. The church
owns a five-octave set of White Chapel bells. Imported from
England, these bells are known for the beauty and fullness
of their tone. Rehearsals: usually every other Sunday, 12:00-12:30
p.m.
Chapel
Choir is for young people in grades 5 and older
who like to praise the Lord with contemporary Christian music.
The director is Jeff DeLay.
Impromptu
Bell Choir is for adults and teens with advanced
music skills. Child care is provided during rehearsals. Rehearsals:
every other Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.
Westminster
Choir is for high schoolers and adults. This
choir participates
weekly in worship from September through the end of May. The
choir performs a wide variety of traditional and contemporary
sacred music. Jeff
DeLay is the director. Child care is provided during choir
practice. Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7:30-9:00 p.m.
First
Presbyterian Philharmonic is our church's newest
music group for instrumentalists of all ages and skill levels.
The directors are David
Eikenberry and Beth
Naegele. The Philharmonic performs on special occasions,
such as the annual Advent Preparation workshop, Christmas Holiday
Event, and Easter. Rehearsals: usually every other Sunday, 12:00-12:30
p.m.
New vocalists and instrumentalists
are are always welcome to join any of these groups. Watch the
church bulletin or our
calendar for
specific rehearsal dates and times. For more information, please
contact the church office for the group of your choice.
